Love remains the same

Hela stood in the middle of the room, silently freaking out, though it wasn’t entirely a secret; she knew that both of her fathers that stood in the room with her knew exactly what was happening. The goddess wrung her hands together, the lace of her gloves scratching lightly against her pale skin as her hands shook lightly. She shifted her weight slightly from foot to foot, trying to think of something besides the fact that she was minutes away from walking down the aisle.

Her mothers, Jessica and Delta had already gone out with the rest of the wedding party and were no doubt already standing in place. She attempted to keep herself calm by taking a few deep breaths, but it only marginally worked in calming her rampant nerves.

Gabriel tugged at the collar of his shirt. He felt like a penguin—a penguin who had practically been threatened into wearing a tux that wasn’t just decent but perfect. It was one thing to dress up for a joke or a trick, but to dress up for something important was something else entirely. But as uncomfortable as he felt, he knew Hela must be about to explode.

“You seem a little jumpy, dottir,” said the archangel conversationally, adjusting his sleeves. “Try thinking about something calming and serene. Like the fact that the human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds given adequate vacuuming systems.” He grinned at her, hoping that would cheer her up a bit, or at least get her mind off her worries.
